Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Tonite Gonzalez-Collins is a Mexican American broadcaster. She works as an ESPN anchor on news, and she hosts SportsNation often. She was hired by ESPN as a reporter in the year 2016. The daughter of TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual from her age of nine. Her ability was crucial in helping her land her first job as a production assistant for Univision Miami in which she worked with the producers of programs including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. She was hired as reporter for CBS St. Petersburg. CBS St. Petersburg affiliate in the following year. She moved in 2009 to Rio Grande Valley, Texas to become an anchor for the newscast of KNVO TV 48 Univision. Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. The stories she covered were about the issue of immigration and trafficking drugs across both Texas as well as Mexico. Also, she was a substitute for weather anchors, sports anchors and forecasters. Later, she was anchor and reporter at Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was assigned more responsibility. She wrote pieces to the NBA, Dallas Cowboys' postseason, NBA ALDS ALCS World Series or Finals FC Dallas. Also, she produced Univision 23's local sports channel Accion Deportiva Extra, on which she served as anchor. The show was made a sports anchor for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. The same job was held for Primer Impacto magazine and Contacto Deportivo on the UniMas Network. Antonietta Collins was a native of Veracruz, Mexico. They eventually moved towards Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born in November 1985. There is also an older sibling. Her family relocated into Miami in 1992 after leaving Mexico. Within a brief time her father split from her mother. She then remarried in 1995 a naval architect named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away of kidney carcinoma in the year 2006. In the summer in 2006 she took an entire week with her sister in Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was working there. Antonietta is a senior in high school, yet she was clear about the career she wanted. When she was deciding whether Mount Union would be a good fit for her, Antonietta went to visit the university. In the end, she loved the school and that they had the kind of program she was searching for. Her studies were completed and she was accepted to the University as a major studying media and communication studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor and also the head of WRMU and WRMU, which she's a part. They developed a close relationship. Her professor urged her to have self-confidence and was greatly moved by his passion for journalism.
